Ease of Use [5 Out of 5 Stars]

Easy to use is an accurate description for our featured product. With no startup prep, no-drip features, and no no need to wait between cups, how could it get any better? When you add in the dishwasher-safe removable parts, it adds ease of cleanup to ease of use. We didn’t have a sixth star, so we had to settle for a 5 out of 5 for ease of use.

Design Quality [5 Out of 5 Stars]

In a word, this machine is nice. It has an attractive stainless steel design that will look good in any kitchen. But not only is it visually appealing, it is designed well from top to bottom. It looks great, feels great, performs well, and can make two cups at a time. It has a 44 ounce water reservoir, and the automatic shutoff feature was a definite plus, making it unnecessary to stand over the machine while it brews your espresso. That is a solid 5 stars from us.

Warranty [5 Out of 5 Stars]

This espresso machine is covered by a two-year manufacturer’s warranty against faults and manufacturing defects if used in a domestic setting. If it is used for commercial use, the warranty drops to six months.

  • Patented filter design
  • Maintains ideal brewing temperature

The DeLonghi ECP3630 is made entirely from stainless steel, which means it is designed to be durable. It has a self-priming pump which helps to eliminate startup prep and features two separate thermostats–one for steam and one for water for the perfect cup. It has a 37-ounce water reservoir, 15 bar professional pressure, and can deliver either one or two shots of espresso at a time. It features a more narrow design than the other machines in our Delonghi EC702 review, which means this one fits particularly well in small spaces. The bottom tray is removable to allow for a larger cup to be placed in the machine.

Ease of Use [5 Out of 5 Stars]

As with our previous DeLonghi, this espresso machine is easy to use. We gave it a 5 out of 5 stars because it needs no startup prep and has an easy cleanup, no-drip design. Its patented filter also makes it easy to make one or two shot espresso cups with ease. As an added extra, we liked how easy it is to switch from a small cup to a large one.

Design Quality [4.5 Out of 5 Stars]

The ECP3630 has a nice all-stainless steel design, and it is smaller: which is nice for smaller spaces. The double layer drip tray is nice, and the bottom tray is removable to allow for a larger cup of brew. The machine has no automatic stop, so the cup can overflow if not shut off. Also, the warmer plate can be a little on the hot side at times: but overall we gave it a 4.5 out of 5 for design quality.

Warranty [5 Out of 5 Stars]

As with our previous DeLonghi, this one comes with the a two-year manufacturer’s warranty for in-home use and 6 months for commercial use.

  • All-stainless design
  • Dual separate thermostats
  • 15 bar professional pressure

  • Removable 1.4 liter (48 oz.) water tank

The DeLonghi ECO310W has a sleek metal design with a white finish. It has a 15 bar pressure pump system that delivers professional performance. It also has a patented multifunctional filter design and a built-in coffee tamper. It has a warming plate on top with rails around it to prevent cups from falling off. It also features a slightly larger 48-ounce water reservoir and an intuitive control panel with 3 buttons that shows the temperature and pressure. The unit can use either pods or ground coffee and has a milk frother.

Ease of Use [4 Out of 5 Stars]

The ECO310W is easy to start up and use with its self-priming pump. The rails around the warming plate were a nice touch, making it easy to keep your cups warm without fear of them falling off. This unit doesn’t have automatic shutoff, so you do have to watch it to make sure your cup doesn’t overflow. For these reasons, we gave it a 4 out of 5 stars for ease of use.

Design Quality [4. Out of 5 Stars]

We loved the Italian vintage look of this machine and the way it offers the white finish option for those who don’t prefer stainless steel. The rail we mentioned previously is a great design feature, and the slightly larger water reservoir and built in coffee tamper won us over. This one doesn’t have quite as many bells and whistles as the others on our list; but that’s to be expected for the lower price.

Warranty [5 Out of 5 Stars]

As with our previous DeLonghi machines, this one also has a two-year manufacturer’s warranty against fault and if used in a domestic setting, or 6 months if used commercially.

Pros

  • Patented dual function filter holder
  • Patented cappuccino frother
  • Cup storage tray
  • Intuitive controls
  • 48-ounce water reservoir

  • Some movement due to lighter weight

The A-3220 espresso machine from DeLonghi features a black finish and a 15 bar high-pressure pump. It has a patented 3 in 1 filter that can brew from either ground coffee or coffee pods. This unit has a removable bottom tray that enables the user to make a large cup of coffee. There is no startup prep necessary with this A-3220 as it comes with a self-priming pump. It has a 37-ounce capacity water tank and a tray that holds your cups during preparation.

Ease of Use [4 Out of 5 Stars]

This A-3220 Espresso machine was easy to start up and use with the self-priming pump. The filter is the patented 3 in 1, so it easily brews single or double shot espresso or cappuccino. The manual frother works well and is easy to use. Some customers did mention that the filter holder is tight and that sometimes the filter basket will come out when emptying. Overall, we gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Design Quality [4.5 Out of 5 Stars]

We liked the design of this unit and felt the black finish offered a great alternative to stainless for those that do not prefer it. It can brew 2 cups at a time, which was a nice feature, and the frother–though manual–delivers. The coffee basket has smaller holes that might become clogged, but with regular cleaning, this should not cause a problem. Overall, we gave it a 4.5 for design quality.

Warranty [5 Out of 5 Stars]

As with the other DeLonghi espresso machines, the DeLonghi A-3220, has the two-year manufacturer’s warranty for in home use and 6 months for commercial use.

Conclusion

There you have it: we have reached the end of our DeLonghi EC702 review. And while we have presented other DeLonghi machines that would make a nice addition to any kitchen, we feel confident in our choice. The Delonghi ECP3630, ECO310W, and the A-3220 all have the same 15 bar high-pressure pump and patented filter holders. But this DeLonghi EC702 review features the EC702 for a reason.

First, we loved the stainless steel design and the fact that the DeLonghi EC702 has the capacity to make two barista-quality cups at a time. The removable parts are not stainless and are all dishwasher safe, which is a great feature that the solid stainless units do not have.

It has an automatic shut off feature that is not present on a couple of the other units. Not having to stand over the machine while it brews a cup (or two) was a definite plus in our book and added to the appeal of this machine. Then, let’s not forget the fact that this unit looks and feels like a professional machine that you’d see in your local coffee shop. Don’t be surprised if visitors to your home want to see your espresso-making skills when they see it. It is a lot of fun to use too, so we know you will not mind obliging them.

At the end of our Delonghi EC702 review we felt we had to give this machine 5 out of 5 stars. If you are looking for an expresso machine, you can buy these with confidence and enjoy one of your favorite drinks in the comfort of your own home, knowing what all your choices are and the features that these machines offer. Happy brewing!
